Rolo’s Tech Talk

There are a few major rule changes for 2019 that many of us are not accustomed to. But must be met for safety  purposes.                                                                   

All vehicles are required a secondary safety hitch, safety hitch must be as strong as primary hitch and cannot be connected to primary drawbar. Safety hitch must be mounted 8 inches below primary on all tractors and 12 inches below primary for all trucks. The safety hitch should be a minimum of 3/8 thick. 

All  turbocharged tractor engines; in vertical portion of exhaust: two 3/8 (minimum grade 5 ) bolts, installed 90 degrees of each other within 1 inch of each other. In the horizontal portion of exhaust two 5/16 grade 5 bolts installed 90 degrees of each other within one inch of each other and within 4 inches from exhaust housing flange.

All truck turbocharged engines should have two 5/16 grade 5 bolts installed 90 degrees of each other within 1 inch of each other and within 4 inches from exhaust housing flange. 

Eligibility for end of season points funds and purse money is dependent on displaying of sponsors decals in a prominent and visible location. Purse money may be with held from any competitor who fails to display proper sponsor and/or Lucas Oil decals.  Required National Level Decals: Geico, General Tire, K&N, Lucas Oil, Lucas Oil Racing TV, MAVTV, Optima Batteries, Protect The Harvest, Rhino Ag, Super Clean, and Pro Pulling League. Decals will be supplied in membership packets or available at the Mid South entry trailer. Mid South level sponsor decals will be supplied at the Mid South entry trailer.

Roll cage inspections will be at Lawrenceburg under the barn 10 AM – 3 PM Friday May 31st (pending rain). Make sure that ALL rollcage bolts are grade 8.

Turbochargers  Any single turbo (Larger than 3.0″ in diameter) must have a minimum of 1/8″ cable wrapped around turbo. Cable must wrap 2 revolutions around turbo, clamped by a minimum of 2 clamps at splice or metal collars around intake with attaching 1/8″ cables to exhaust housing, or a kevlar lined turbo blanket covering the intake housing.
